Carafe Ceramica Negra
Black carafe (ceramica negra) in earthenware fired in the flame. The technique of cooking ceramics directly in the flame is ancestral. It is a very long cooking of about 50 hours. The passage of the flames unevenly creates beige and gray shades. This process gives our “Ceramica negra” range a matt and deep anthracite gray appearance (almost black) with silver reflections.
The silhouette of this carafe is inspired by the shape of the traditional gourds of Catalan shepherds.
Origin: Spain
Every Datcha collection begins the same way. The two creators search everywhere, guided by their curiosity. Looking as much into the history of crafts as towards the ways of doing things in the Maghreb or the Far East. They innovate from this know-how, design unique models, which do not copy but pay homage to the trades. Their choices lean towards atypical practices, with an element of randomness in the manufacturing processes, chance and “accidents” often creating good surprises.
